Topic: Social Engineering Panel Discussion

Moderator: Richard Greenberg, Information Security Officer, LA County Public Health

Richard brings over 25 years of management experience and has been a strategic and thought leader in IT and Information Security for both the private and public sectors. His Project Management, Security Management and Operations, and Policy and Compliance experience has helped shape his broad perspective on creating and implementing Information Security Programs in organizations.

Richard was recently honored as an Honor Roll recipient by ISSA International. He has been selected as a finalist for both the (ISC)2 Americas Information Security Leadership Award in the Senior Information Security Professional category and the Los Angeles Business Journal CIO of the Year in Security.

Richard is the Chair of the Annual Healthcare Security and Privacy Forum in LA. He has been a Chair of several ISSA LA Security Summits, and all four of the AppSec California conferences. He has also served as the OWASP AppSec USA Conference Co-Chair and has been a member of the ISSA International Conference Committee.

Richard is the President of ISSA-Los Angeles and is the OWASP Los Angeles Chapter Leader. He has worked diligently to bring together the various Southern California IT and InfoSec organizations to enhance their collaboration efforts, to help reach new IT and InfoSec professionals.

Richard has been a published author, and has spoken on Information Security individually and on panels, most recently at the Beverly Hills Health IT Summit in Nov 2016 and “A Day in the Life of a CISO” for ISSA in January 2017. He is also a Security Evangelist, helping to spread the word about secure application development and general security awareness.

Sig Murphy, Managing Director, Incident Response and Forensics, Cylance 

In his role as the Managing Director for Incident Response and Forensics for the
Western U.S., Sig is responsible for overseeing all of Cylance Consulting’s incident
response engagements and forensic work in this region. Sig is also responsible for
providing support to our clients’ executives before, during, and after a breach to ensure
they are best able to handle cyber incidents.

Prior to joining Cylance, Sig served as Vice President of Services for Fidelis
Cybersecurity where he was responsible for the success of Fidelis’ cybersecurity
engagements. In that role, Sig served as the project lead for many high-visibility
incident response matters, including the TJX intrusion, the 2016 DNC breach, and a
breach at a major U.S. stock exchange. Prior to joining Fidelis, Sig served at the DoD
Cyber Crime Center (DC3) for 12 years.


Upen Sachdev, 
Principal, Cyber Risk Advisory Team, Deloitte 

Upen is a Principal with Deloitte’s Cyber Risk Advisory team. He is passionately client-focused and brings more than 15 years of extensive technology management experience to his various roles as a cyber risk executive. He has spearheaded various award winning Managed Services solutions and is recognized as a pioneer in the field of Managed Security Services. He co-founded and led e-Cop GRC, a niche Information Security practice into a globally recognized firm with clients across the globe.

Upen also draws upon a wealth of experience from his five years as Chief of Information Security at various globally recognized brands. Most recently, he was responsible for Information Security and PCI compliance at DineEquity, Inc (IHOP and Applebee’s). Upen is Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).


Brian Contos, 
CISO & VP Security Strategy, Verodin

Brian has over two decades of experience in security. He is a seasoned executive, board advisor, security company entrepreneur and author. After getting his start in security with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and later Bell Labs, Brian began the process of building security startups and taking multiple companies through successful IPOs and acquisitions including: Riptech, ArcSight, Imperva, McAfee and Solera Networks.

Brian has worked in over 50 countries across six continents. He is a strategic board advisor for multiple companies including Cylance and Appdome. He has authored several security books, spoken at leading security events and is a Distinguished Fellow with the Ponemon Institute. Brian frequently appears in the media and blogs for CSO Magazine.
