ISSA-LA May Lunch Meeting

Topic:  72hrs of Incident Response
Ken will discuss the life cycle of an Network Security Incident, steps to organize, communication, and how to respond as an organization. Ken will also discuss the most recent DDoS attacks and defense methods.

Speaker: Ken Scott
Ken Scott is a Network Security Engineer with 8 years of DDoS experience. He worked at:
Prolexic, (the worlds 1st DDoS company)
VeriSign, (the maintainer of .com .net and .gov TLDs),
Apple, (as a member of Apple SIRT), & currently
F5 (as Principle DDoS SOC Engineer).

Ken has been lead the response on hundreds of security incidents, ranging from mass internal infections, social engineering, internal threat, and DDoSs ranging fromon the biggest banks to small political targets. Ken is proficient in network sniffers such as tcpdump, wireshark, & snort, reverse proxies, load balancers, tunnels, and emergency response. In his spare time he’s hacking his own bots or working on an Open Source project.
